The University of A Coruña, with tax identification number Q-6550005-J and registered office at Rúa Maestranza 9, 15001 A Coruña, (A Coruña), is registered in the Register of Universities, Centres and Degrees (RUCT).
(Hereinafter, UDC)
The contents, organisation and selection of links on the udc.es and udc.gal pages may be used in whole or in part without the need to cite the sources.
This portal is optimised for the M.S. Internet Explorer 7.0, Mozilla 2.0 and Chrome 3.0 browsers or higher versions. The recommended minimum resolution is 1024×768.
1. User rights and obligations
Use of any of the services offered on the website confers the status of User from the very first moment and will be considered as the express, voluntary and irrevocable acceptance of these general conditions. To access the services on this website that are not free of charge or that impose a series of obligations, the User must be of legal age and have the legal capacity and necessary representation to enter into a legal commitment.
The User accessing the website must comply with these General Conditions and with any special instructions for use that may appear at any given time. Furthermore, the User undertakes to always act in accordance with the law, good practice and the requirements of good faith, using the due diligence appropriate to the nature of the service they are using. Therefore, the User may not make any modification or alteration to the website’s content, except for data that the User has entered themselves, nor may they in any way prejudice its integrity or operation.
2. Liability of the UDC
The UDC reserves the right to make modifications to the website, as well as to these general terms and conditions. Furthermore, and given the special nature of the medium chosen to communicate with Users, the UDC cannot assume any liability:
- For temporary unavailability of the website at any given time, or of specific information included on it or on websites accessed via hyperlinks on the website.
- For the accuracy or currency of the content, information and offers of products and services provided.
The website contains simplified or simplified-language information, written with the aim of making it easy for the average user to understand. Therefore, UDC accepts no responsibility for any misinterpretations that may arise from the information presented here, unless there has been negligence on the part of UDC in the performance of its duties, as described in these General Conditions.
UDC shall not be liable in any case for damages arising from fortuitous or unforeseeable events, nor for those resulting from the User’s negligent conduct.
3. User’s Responsibility Regarding the Website
The User undertakes to:
- Make appropriate and lawful use of the website, as well as its contents and services, in accordance with applicable law at all times, the General Terms of Use, generally accepted morals and good conduct, and public order. Furthermore, they must have all the means and technical requirements necessary to access the website or the social network.
- Provide truthful information when filling in forms with their personal data and keep it up to date at all times so that it reflects the User’s actual situation at all times. The User shall be solely responsible for any false or inaccurate statements they make and for any damages caused to the UDC or to third parties as a consequence of the information they provide.
4. Intellectual and Industrial Property
This website, as well as the contents, services and elements that make it up, are the property of or under the control of the UDC, and are protected without limitation by Spanish intellectual and industrial property laws and applicable international Treaties and Conventions.
Under no circumstances shall it be understood that any licence is granted, nor that a total or partial waiver, transfer or assignment of the aforementioned rights is made, nor shall any right be conferred, in particular the rights of exploitation, reproduction, distribution, transformation or public communication of the aforementioned content, without the prior express and written authorisation of the UDC.
5. Data protection
In accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR), and with Article 11 of Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights (LOPD), the personal data collected by the University of A Coruña will be processed under the responsibility of the University, whose contact details are Calle Maestranza 9, 15001 A Coruña, telephone 981167000, email secretaria.xeral@udc.gal.
The data provided to the University by the interested party will be processed for the specific purpose for which it was requested, with such processing being legitimised in one of the cases provided for in Article 6 of the GDPR. All persons who have access to this data for the aforementioned purpose shall comply with the duty of confidentiality established in Article 5 of the LOPD.
The data will be processed for the time necessary to fulfil the aforementioned purpose and will be kept in accordance with the deadlines and criteria established for each specific case, in accordance with the applicable legislation. The data will not be transferred to third parties unless there is prior consent from the interested party or a legal basis for such transfer.
In any case, the data subject shall have the right to request from the data controller, at any time, access to, rectification or erasure of their personal data and restriction of processing. They shall also have the right to object to such processing, as well as to request the portability of their data, except in cases of public interest and/or the exercise of public authority. Furthermore, they shall have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making, including profiling.
These rights may be exercised in one of the following ways:
- in particular, through the form for exercising data protection rights, which can be completed on this same Electronic Administration Portal, in the ‘Other procedures’ section;
- by submitting a request to the data controller (UDC, General Secretariat), at the address Secretaría General, Rectorado de la Universidad de A Coruña, Rúa Maestranza 9, 15001, A Coruña, or by email to rpd@udc.gal; the request may also be submitted through the online portal of this Electronic Office or at the physical registries of the UDC.
- by contacting the data protection officer at the same postal address as above, or by email to dpd@udc.gal; the request may also be submitted via the online registry of this portal or at the physical registries of the UDC.
In addition, data subjects shall have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
6. Jurisdiction
Any dispute or controversy arising between the UDC and a user in relation to the interpretation or application of these terms and conditions, or in general, in relation to the use of the services, shall be governed by Spanish law.
