The ECIGAL research group, together with the Colexio de Educadoras e Educadores Sociais de Galicia, the SEPA-interea Group of the USC, the ForInterMed Group of the UNED and the Faculty of Education and Social Work of the UVigo, are organising the 1st International, Professional and Interuniversity Congress of Social Education on the 8th and 9th of May.
For us, it was an opportunity to strengthen the inter-university work and collaboration with the CEESG that we have been developing in recent years and, above all, a learning experience, with conferences, round tables, presentations and workshops of interest in which to delve into what is a key pillar of social education: WELLBEING AND COMPANIONSHIP.
Likewise:
Our colleague Laura Cruz participated in the round table where the future challenges of social education were outlined.
We shared our work at a symposium on Youth in Action leading global change through research, participation and activism, coordinated by Solidariedade Internacional de Galicia.
We presented papers in which we shared our findings on weaving ECGC networks between teaching staff, NGOs and school communities, or our theoretical reflection on the challenges of critical digital literacy.
And, without a doubt, we also highlight the congress’s potential as a space for meeting, for fostering connections and for generating new networks. We’re already looking forward to the next CIPIES!!!
